Gun safety is the responsiblity of the gun owner/carrier. The only way is the boring repetition of drill: release the magazine open the action, lock it back, check the chamber, release the slide point gun in safe direction pull the trigger and release the hammer. If you do this before storing the gun and do it again when you pick it up and do it when someone hands you a fire arm and keep doing it with every gun you have contact with forever you will be a little safer. However you are human so keep reminding yourself why you are safe.

Don't have a Glock. Don't like them one bit.

Better than when my instructor put a whole through the window in the front of class, pulling the trigger on an "unloaded" gun.
