CO Adds PA to its Reciprocity List

Colorado CBI has added Pennsylvania to its Reciprocity List. The PA AG has not listed CO on its website as a reciprocity state as of this afternoon. Handgunlaw.us will be updated in the next 24 hours to show this change in Reciprocity.

Thanks Gary , as i understand it tho all it takes for colorado to add is a letter to the states ag stating that any state will honor our permit . We seem ( inspite of recient legeslation ) to be pretty easy going on it .

JDL only if its your state of residence , the new statute in CO says you must have a permit from your state of residence , the fla or ut non res permits are no longer valid in co . some of us fought it , but lost , hopefully we can get it annuled either by legislation or court order . ( right now a court order looks the most promising ) If you want to come to Colorado tho have a permit from your our home state , if not you can carry concealed in your vehicle , but the instent your foot hits pavement you are in violation . You can have almost anything in the passenger compartment of your car due to our peaceable journey laws If its a long gun you must have an empty chamber , if its a handgun it may be fully loaded .

Hoorah! That is very good news, after reading about Ritter's deal over ruling out non-res.

That will mean my PA res permit will do fine. I do hope the PA AG returns the favor.

    Many thx Gary.

Chris , its an update thing , had PA not sent a letter to our ag we would not recognise your permit . Our state just updated faster online . Colorado by statute recognises any state that does the same for us , this has been an issue with some states as to who writes the offer first , but we allways recognise the state that sends us the letter .

Excellent! Maybe the legislature and governor's anti activity doesn't extend to quashing our reciprocity agreements.

    Sweet! Another state!!!

So if we want to petition to get another state added we should send letters to the CO state house and senate? Or should we write the house and senate of the state we want to have added and see if they will send us a letter?

I was really surprised to see that AR is not covered under a CO permit and I didn't even know where to start to petition to get them added.

I really think thought we should all write the CO legislator and tell them that since they will not longer honor non-res permits they need to actively seek reciprocity with every other state that issues permits. Seems only fair.

So does PA recognize CO? If so, maybe I'll do a Colorado non-resident permit.

No. The Attorneys General of Colorado and most other states are the entities handling CCW reciprocity agreements.

Yes, because that's the only way PA gets a "Yes" on the list linked in the first post. CO has only one requirement to recognize another state's permit: the other state agrees to recognize the CO permit.

Incredipete, are you a KS resident with KS permit, or a PA resident with PA permit? Either way, you are legal in CO.
