I to am a ex-bullseye shooter trying this new fangled both eyes open, two hand grip thing. OOH Boy is it giving me fits, From reading these post's I take it it is all practice. Can't tell you how many times during practice I have just given up. Thinking this is just not right, nobody could possibly shoot this way. Hey two hands was hard enough, but both eyes open? no way. Well better put in lot's more range time I guess.

just ask yourself if you close one eye when you point, shoot hoops, cast a fishing rod, throw a baseball, put the key in the lock...ect.
I can't help but think of the latest stop smoking ads on TV.
"If you can learn to do......without one eye closed, you can do a lot...."
    or something like that.

Something I have seen help alot of folks learn to shoot with both eyes open: take some scotch tape, the semi-translucent stuff, and put it on the lens of your eye-protection, on the non-dominant eye side.

Now you can keep the eye open, but you can't actually see the sites with it.

Once you get used to that you can take the tape off, and have an easier time of it.

all of my first shooting had nothing to do with combat shooting. mostly bullseye and "plinking". I started at about 10 or 11...and I've been shooting ever since then (I'm still a young'un at 30 now). Even though I have had my carry permit since 19 I didn't get heavily into combat shooting until a few years ago...it was certainly a bit of an adjustment for me...but far from impossible.
