    New Hampshire

When I first applied I was leaving for Fla. That was a thursday, I left it in my mail box. When I came home on Tuesday it was in my mailbox. And there was a note inside that my permit would not be valid until I signed and returned my check.

Application mailed May 4th. Check cashed May 17th. Today, May 30th -- still no permit.
Called them today (June 5th) as I still don't have my permit. The lady I talked to said I should be receiving it any day now. We'll see how much longer it takes.

License showed up today. 34 days door to door. Seemed like a long time, but actually much faster than getting my resident license in Kansas.

To hijack the thread does anyone know if there is any difference in listing "Protection" or "All proper purposes" on the NH non-resident application?

I put for "protection and all lawful purposes".

    Tony,
I had asked the same question when I was applying for mine. I put "all proper purposes" on mine and got my license.

I got mine back in 8 days. My uncle got his in 12 days. Here in Arkansas I picked up 5 states I believe with it over the resident permit. I could have went for a TN. non resident and picked up NM. but I do not see that'd I'd ever use it and for almost $100.00 more and all the hoops to jump through and the wait. It just wasn't worth the hassle to me to go for a TN. when the NH. does every thing I need on top of my resident permit.

You can go to Memphis, Tn. and head out somewhere and before you know it, bam you are in MS. and not covered by my AR. permit. So it was very important to me to get covered for that and when I travel through LA., AL., GA., FL. does not recognize a non-resident permit. (if I'm not mistaken) But FL. and AR. recently started reciprocal honoring each others permit.
