I live in kinda West/North Las Vegas, so urban. I carry everyday. This weekend I found an outdoor range just a few miles from me near Red Rock Canyon that I'll be joining.

Very urban SW Houston. Sometimes I'd like to go shootin' out my back door due to the stray cat community nesting two doors down.
Moved here for financial reasons from rural NW Louisiana where I could shoot on my property and owning and talking about guns was everyday conversation.

Kahman, we're probably neighbors. I live in the northwest suburbs of Sin City myself, in the Silverstone Ranch Subdivision, between Buffalo and Durango, north of 95.
Outer Banks of NC. Only a few thousand people in the whole county including the mainland except during the 'season', and then we get 1/2 a million visitors every week. With all these unfamiliar people coming and going, crime is still petty and usually alcohol related.

Used to be rural. Not as rural anymore, (sub-rural I guess) so I'm leaving. Heading somehwere else rural.
When you've got 'em by the balls, their hearts & minds will follow. Semper Fi.
Rural, NE of DFW. Small town in a small county. Poor county too. Crime is burglary, theft, drugs, DUI's, DD, and the like. Currently copper theft is at a high point. The drugs are making crime more frequent and serious. We pick out a Meth Monster weekly or so. We both carry.
Benefits include the quiet rural environment with a only one "neighbor" we adore (husband and wife, he carries & we're shooting buddies), a lakefront, and nobody pays us any attention. We blend in with the trees and bushes and try to stay unnoticed. Pretty boring sounding for young 'uns.

Three grassy acres next to a pasture full of cattle and a private lake in an area a couple of miles outside of the city limits of a 1500 populated city of Bowdon, GA. I do not shoot in the yard because the neighbors don't like it and I am a good neighbor. Some people do but I don't. I belong to two ranges that are not too far and usually free of anyone when I want to shoot.

Rural. five miles from a small town, and close to several nice lakes.
Both... but primarily (five-six days a week) urban.
From New Orleans (aka Chocolate City). Pretty much live in the heart of the big crime area. Ok 1/4 mile away. Guns shots are heard pretty much every night 3 to 4 time a night.
Lucky for me the cops are pretty cool about open carry at least where I am. I am waiting for my CCW to come in. till then open carry it is.

20 years ago I bought a 10 acre farm outside of a small town, They have since anexted me into the city. All the other farmers around me sold out to the developers, so now I have Houses all around me and I have to drive 20 miles to shoot.
You may have hit the nail on the head with "jungle"!
I live in a suburban area but... the more I look around, the more "center city" crime I see all around me. SHEESH!![]()

32 years ago I bought a couple, nonfarmable but buildable, acres in the country. Used to be pastures all around, Now there's a corporate office next door (about 200 yds.). My side of the property line is zoned so that I can still shoot and hunt. Had one complaint from an office worker. He envied me b/c I could shoot out my back door. Friends come over regularly to shoot. Lots of lead on these two acres. http://www.combatcarry.com/vbulletin.../dancinguy.gif
