I wish I could still grow enough hair on top to get it cut. Now like Fed I just buy razor blades.

Huh. I found a local barber shop, recently sold to some more 'hair-style-y' types, which is perfect...$17 for a really solid haircut (I live in an extremely expensive city, so this is a bargain) from either a girl who hands me vintage Playboys when I walk in, or from the owner, a guy who loves LEOs and guns. The first time I came in, I was a little worried about taking off my sport coat, but all the guy ever wants to do is talk guns now, so it's always a good time. They even offer me a beer, but since I'm carrying (and/or it's noon...), they know I have to politely decline.

Wahl makes a great hair trimmer for $20. Wife's been cutting my hair for months and guns are ALWAYS welcome there!

<----My LT was unhappy that I did not have my PASS-Tag at that fire. But I found the body so he said he would overlook it. :)
The really sad part is that the owner posting will only tell the crooks that her shop is "easy pickings". The crooks don't pay any heed to "no guns" signs; only those who have a CHL notice.

Best way to handle this type of situation. Polite, to the point, and willing to return if they see the light. Can't do better than that.

I have been going to the same barber for all my life. Went in one day and they had a security camera setup. Asked him what that was for, and he said "its in case someone breaks in at night". I said what about during the day. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a .38 and said "we will kill them".
I know recommend him business as much as possible
This story goes back a little ways, CCW didn't become law here until this January. In December I was getting my hair cut and the guy in the next chair brought up the fact that beginning in Jan. people could carry guns.
The shop owner was cutting his hair and it took her by surprise, she was clueless.
I told her that in order to legally carry, one had to spend lots of $$ to take training courses, background checks etc.
The other guy mentioned that a gun couldn't be carried into a building if they had a sign on the door, and told her she should get one of those signs.
I then told her that if she put one up I'd find somewhere else to go.
Oh, and... there are still a couple or three old time barbers here in town but I think they only know two styles: Crew cut or mullett.
I'll go check them out at least.![]()
I'm a child of the 60's, but I got over it.
I live by a military post... all the barbers here including most of the womens shops can do flat tops! I am lucky in that regard.... also none of them post silly signs to my knowledge

Stand firm, but give them a chance to change their mind and be polite, even if they don't change their mind, they will know one gun owner who impressed them.
(As for haircuts, I have an international runway on my head, so no flat tops for me, although a spit and shine comes in handy! The woman who cuts my hair is Iranian, her daughter that hangs out at the shop is stunningly pretty, very good cook and nice, to bad I not 25 again!)
I assume those signs actually mean something in Kansas. They are meaningless here in PA. You did the right thing by moving on.

Sad, hopefully it works out. I know it's time to get my hair done when I have problems sitting on it.
