There's a difference between commandments and rules.

Rules are more effective and can combine multiple commandments in one rule.

And, of course, the number one rule for gunfighting - always bring a gun...

    1. All guns are always loaded. (ALWAYS)

    2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.

    3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.

    4. Be sure of your target. (Know what is, behind it, next to it, and around it.)

    5. If you think the gun is not loaded, go back to number 1.

If it is not in the US Constitution then the Federal Government should not be doing it.

    1) Use common sense.

All other rules fall into #1.

Quoted for the Truth. I normally go as far as removing all additional rounds in the weapon (think lever action) especially a beginner. It's real easy to slap that lever back down and fire without thinking. seen that one a couple of times at the range.

Come on Marine, I know your PMI at boot camp taught you the four (Marine Corps) safety laws.

Treat all weapons as if they were loaded.
Keep the weapon on safe until you're ready to fire.
Keep your finger strait and off the trigger until you've decided to fire.
Never point your weapon at anything you're not willing to destroy.
