On the Kansas State University newspaper link, an individual noted that, crazy or not, business owners have a right to post such signs.

I replied, "...is correct, of course. Customers with permits, however, will certainly go elsewhere where their business is welcome; and criminals will NOT be deterred by "feel-good" posturing, whether within the business owners' rights or not. For that is EXACTLY what these types of measures are--posturing. Criminals who have already decided to break laws against murder, rape, and armed robbery will not be deterred by an 11-inch by 14-inch piece of sheet-metal which essentially pleads, "Please hurt someone else, not ME!" If such signs were truly effective as deterrents for crime, every business establishment in the world would have already posted "Crime is Prohibited Here" signs centuries ago (before firearms, armed robberies were committed with knives and swords, after all)."

    Good response Falcon.

I made this one up year or more ago - sorta says what I feel if and when I see the usual signs we talk about.... but this one is aimed at being used by anti's ... outside their dwellings!!

Next to each sign should be "=KILL ZONE, enter at your own risk."

If the sign is being used at a gun shop, then a stipulation should be made that if you plan to ask questions about your carry gun and will need to examine that gun, bring it in unloaded (and carry something else that you won't be fiddling with that day).

My sign could get awful wordy awful fast.
So, you don't support the Open Carry of firearms? What is that all about?

" Illustrate a serious no-weapons policy on your premises. Don’t let the threat of gun incidents or violence overrun the security of your property."

The above statement is just plain silly. Unfortunately there are people living in our society whom actually believe it.

What if a bad guy couldn't read?

I would think that a sign that read "most of my customers are armed with a concealed weapon" Would be more of a deterrent.

The only sign that would protect you is one that is big enough, and thick enough for you to cover behind when the shooting starts...

P95 I am tempted to take that sign you made and have stickers made up so anytime I see a place thats posted I will discretely stick up that sticker next to it. See if that will invoke a response from customers.

I think you are onto something. I'll buy some.

Simply add this next to the sign prohibiting guns. Someone just might figure it out.

"NO GUN" signs protect like a 'cloak of invisibility.'

Maybe if we put those signs around our necks, printed on T-Shirts, etc, we won't ever be a victim!

It's already been mentioned, but if someone DOES 'breach security', the anti's will simply say that the 'misguided victim [BG] was illiterate and the sign was not written clearly enough'
It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.
