One would think it crystal clear that the sign was simply ignored for its empty and hollow nature. No criminal worthy of the name would give a second thought to such a sign.
The only reason we follow such things is because we've allowed society to create a legal firestorm over the "offense" (not to say crime) against their sensibilities. Despite the fact that crimes are not made by the mere existence of signs. Only criminal actions & intent that do that.

Without reading all 8 pages of responses, has anyone ever did an study to see if the % of robberies increases at these places after putting up a "Were defenseless, come and rob us" sign?
I always thought a "NO ROBBERIES" sign would be better.
though its not the best quality I want them to make this sign for me :)
Just imagine how safe everyone would be with a sign like that! Maybe they could follow up with a "no murders", "no rapes", and "no violence" line of signs.

Personally, I think we need to abide by the request of those who post these signs.Disarm then go in and let them know that you WILL NEVER patronize their establishment again and let them know why.
Until we make and stand and hit these people where it hurts (which is in the pocket) they will continue this ignorance.

I am thinking of putting one of those signs on the front door to my home. Then when a BG breaks in and I put 2 COM, I can tell the cops he didn't follow the rules of my sign.
I wonder if I can get a homeowners insurance break? Maybe I'll give my agent a call and see.
