I was referring to being able to carry in Pennsyalvania. I know I can't carry at Gettysburg National Military Park (which is federal land, under the control of the National Park Service, not a state park).

That's a national park? I thought it was state, maybe I'm thinking of the stuff in Philly. National makes alot more sense though.

Yes, sir, Gettysburg is definitely a National Park, and is officially and legally a "gun-free zone".
(except for the criminals, that is).

NO , NY and PA do NOT have a Reciprocity agreement ,
NY does not recognize PA permits , and NY does NOT
issue nonresident permits.
Your state sucks.
Here is the link to the PA Attorney General Info..

However , PA will allow you to POSSESS a handgun in our
state , and you CAN get a Nonresident PA carry license if you
have an Unrestricted NY license.

You mean, with a NY CHL, he can carry a loaded handgun in his car while in Pennsylvania.
Isnt that what you meant to say?

I don't think it can be loaded, I thought it had to be locked in a case.

Who's post are you referring to?
If its mine....
As long as you hold a current CHL from ANY state, you can indeed carry a LOADED handgun only in your vehicle while in PA .
Now if your states CHL is recognized by PA, you can also carry the firearm concealed on your person in PA also.

What a coincidence - I just visited there today. There was a sign on the visitor's center door, saying no large bags, something else, something else, and no weapons.
Bought one of those CDs for the Auto Tour, and drove around with my gun locked up in a TSA container in the way-back.
Interesting anecdote on the CD - the cemetery (for which Cemetery Ridge was named) - had a "No Firearms" sign on it (yeah, I guess they had gun-free zones even back then!), which got knocked down by a Confederate cannonball. One of the Union Generals made the comment "It looks like that ordinance has been rescinded!"

Have you been to Antietam yet?
If you likes G-Burgh and Civil War history, you MUST take a day to fully explore Antietam .
Its not a Tourist-ied up with monuments and signs and cement walkways everywhere like Gettysburgh.
So you really get a feel for what Antietam was like back in the time of the 1860's
Take a walk down the Sunken Road towards the Roulette farm and take a walk back in time. Everything at the Roulette farm is still kept in period and you can go into the buildings outside of the farm house.

My miss understanding then. I though if it was not recognized it couldn't be loaded in the car either.

Yeah, PA's laws are a bit confusing.
They recognize any states CHL for car carry. But dont recognize that many sates for regular carry.
Makes no sense to me.

Check this out. Just spoke with someone from the AG office this morning (6/18), they have changed their website as this thread states. Then he continued to say that as far as he knows the PSP have not changed their stance, and are not non resident permits from FL in PA.
