    They did that on purpose.

Does state other than Texas (GODs Country) use 30.06 signs.

If it is not in the US Constitution then the Federal Government should not be doing it.

just info for all, 30.06 just happens to be the point of the penal code that this sign law is located; from what I've been told it was definitely not done on purpose to match the rifle caliber

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?

It does point to the section of the penal code, but it was also done on purpose. Yes, they were helped out by the fact that the "Burglary and Criminal Trespass" section of the Texas penal code is chapter 30, but what was said at the time it was enacted was that the legislators "went to great length to get that number." Presumably to provide a number that would be easy to remember.

This is a bit too broad. To be sure, private businesses where carry is otherwise prohibited by law (such as a bar) will post these types of generic signs. In those businesses, carrying can land you a citation for an unlawfully concealed weapon as well as trespassing. Private businesses can also ban you from their premises if they see fit. Needless to say, if it's a government office with a no weapons sign, you'd be best off paying attention to it.
