Earlier this year there was talk of a bill that would increase Nevada's Reciprocity agreements.
Has anyone heard what happened to that bill?

If it is not in the US Constitution then the Federal Government should not be doing it.

Going to 'Vegas, Timmy?
The last I heard, Nevada doesn't recocgnize any out of state permits. Maybe some of the members from the Battle Born State will chime in soon.

Yesh-so far no reciprocity.
I took a NV nonresident CC class and the instructor (off duty LEO) said the reason why7 is b'cause Vegas has a lot of alcohol that walks around there.

Governor Gibbons has signed the bill into law -- but, as I understand the bill, it only authorizes the state to begin a study which would allow reciprocity with states that meet Nevada's ccw training standards. Hard to tell how long before anything will actually happen. If you live in Nevada, you are much better off getting a Utah non-resident permit which has reciprocity with about 30 states.
The bill has been signed into law by Governor Gibbons, and takes effect 10/1/2007.
It directs DPS (with approval of the Nevada Chiefs and Sheriffs) to compile a list of states whose training requirements meet or exceed those of Nevada.
The full bill (SB237) is located here.
Relevant excerpts:
Section 2 of this bill allows a person who is
not a resident of this State to carry a concealed firearm in this State if the person
has a permit to carry a concealed firearm issued by a state included in the list
prepared by the Department of Public Safety pursuant to section 3 of this bill.
...
Section 3 of this bill requires the Department to prepare a list of states which
have been determined, on or before July 1 of each year: (1) to have requirements
for the issuance of a permit to carry a concealed firearm that are substantially
similar to or more stringent than the requirements of this State; and (2) to have an
electronic database which identifies each individual who holds a valid permit to
carry a concealed firearm issued by the state and which a law enforcement officer
of this State may access at any time. A state must not be included in the list unless
the Nevada Sheriffs’ and Chiefs’ Association agrees with the Department that the
state should be included in the list.
...
Sec. 3. 1. On or before July 1 of each year, the Department
shall:
(a) Examine the requirements for the issuance of a permit to
carry a concealed firearm in each state and determine whether the
requirements of each state are substantially similar to or more
stringent than the requirements set forth in NRS 202.3653 to
202.369, inclusive, and sections 2 and 3 of this act.
(b) Determine whether each state has an electronic database
which identifies each individual who possesses a valid permit to
carry a concealed firearm issued by that state and which a law
enforcement officer in this State may access at all times through a
national law enforcement telecommunications system.
(c) Prepare a list of states that meet the requirements of
paragraphs (a) and (b). A state must not be included in the list
unless the Nevada Sheriffs’ and Chiefs’ Association agrees with
the Department that the state should be included in the list.
(d) Provide a copy of the list prepared pursuant to paragraph
(c) to each law enforcement agency in this State.
Yeah I am going to Vegas for Thanksgiving (My Sister lives there).
So if I read the law correctly before 1 July which is 9 days from today, they should have a list and since I think Texas has a pretty strict CHL requirement, (10 hour class, and a live fire requirement) Texas should be on the list. That should make my Texas' CHL Permit good in 32 states.
Thank You for the responses.

Timmy,
The law doesn't go into effect until October 1 of this year. That being the case, your Texas CHL will absolutely not be recognized before then.
How long after then it will be valid is anyone's guess. I've heard rumblings from people inside who say the Nevada Chiefs and Sheriffs are planning to try to use a loophole which requires they and DPS to agree on the list, to prevent any reciprocity at all.
I suspect this won't happen, but whether we'll have a list by 10/1 when this goes into effect or whether they'll drag their feet until 7/1 next year is unknown at this point.
Is there an area in where it states where you can find the approved states list? I was unable to, and am getting excited at the possibility of adding another state that I can visit.

I can't wait. I know AZ is on the list. ( or will be) THANK GOD!!!!!!
So, looks like the list should be available in about 3 months.Sec. 9. The Department of Public Safety shall prepare the initial list required 1
by section 3 of this act and provide a copy of that list to each law enforcement 2
agency in this State not later than October 1, 2007.
we should have our first list by the time this law goes into effect on October 1, 2007.
