This is an often asked q . One more time tho lol for me normally two pistols and two spare mags . The pistols share mags ( Kahrs ) .

While working as a police officer I carry a Glock 23 (two 15 round mags on the belt and two 13 round mags in the bag), S&W 640 as a BUG and a Taser X26.

Off duty it is either my G23 with a spare mag or my Kahr P40 with two spare mags. Occasionally if I know that I will be travelling dangerous areas I will carry one of my little j frames as a BUG.

    Welcome !

Good ol faithful question I could actually have answered two ways but chose to vote 1º and BUG ... but BUG is far from daily, like when working from home. It goes in pocket (occasionally ankle) when out and about.

    These are the two .........

On my own time I carry a Primary, 4" N-Frame Revolver with a reload and a J-Frame BUG with a reload.

If I'm travelling and covered under LEOSA then I carry a bottom feeder with a spare mag and a BUG bottom feeder, also with a spare mag.

Taurus PT1911 and beretta tomcat. Starting to carry a 642 as my Bug.

I have carried all three a couple of times and besides not having anywhere for my keys it is quite comfortable.

Just one, at this point, and usually a spare mag.

I'd love to carry a BUG, and I have the ones to do it with, but I just don't typically do it. For one thing, I simply do not want to carry around that much weight. For another, it's not that easy to wear the appropriate clothing in summer in Florida to conceal not one, but two handguns. I almost never wear long pants, so ankle carry is out. I am barely comfortable with a holster on my hip for long term (8-12 hour days?). And I don't typically wear clothes that allow for shoulder holster carry.

I'd consider a BUG in the glove box of my car, if it were not already burdened with a bunch of other stuff.

I guess I just don't figure I'm going out into that much of a hellhole from day to day that I need a BUG that badly. Believe me, I let necessity guide my actions, so if I felt the "need" for a BUG, I'd make the allowances for it.

Often my carry gun is this:

    Thanks Redneck,

I never knew kids could be so expensive. We have to go with cheap and reliable. Sure a Taurus most likely won't last as long as a Smith but it is a heck of a lot cheaper. I'm willing to bet the Makarov will out last a Walther but it'll never be pretty. We have to have protection that we can afford. Nothing on credit if we can't save up for it then we don't need it (expect for the house, car etc..)

If I have a job I carry my G30 in a FIST Hybrid Belt Holster with a spare 10 rd. mag. in a Fist Hybrid single mag pouch and a G26 in a DeSantis Apache ankle holster.

On my own time I carry my G30 with spare mag or Sig 229R .40 with spare mag.

If I'm running to the corner store I'll just throw my S&W 342PD .38 or my Kel-Tec P32 in my pocket.

One 1911 w/8 rd. mag and 1 or 2 spare 8 rd. mags of 185 gr. Corbon 'DPX'.
Sometimes I may carry a knife along with it.
