I would get a versipack (our your favorite fanny pack) and a Glock. After a day at the beach I would detail strip and clean the gun. This sounds like a dumb idea but Glocks were designed with abuse in mind. You can use any gun that you can completely take apart and clean. I would use a Glock (its simple). I'm sure must people would not consider getting the gun wet. Remember it is a tool and look at how and why it was designed. I think we tend to baby our firearms. I know its a $400+ investment and you want to keep it clean and shiny. I was an Instructor in a PD and at first I was appalled at how S&W m36's, used for recruit training, were kept in milk crates.
The guns looked like crap but they worked fine.
