I recommend that you contact the Nevada Attorney General's office or the issuing authority for concealed weapons permits in that State for a definitive answer to your question.

Asking for legal advice on an open Internet forum is not a good idea.

While speaking of Nevada let ask a question I had asked earlier.

The Governor signed a new reciprocity bill and the bill goes into effect 1 Oct 2007 that said they would broaden their reciprocity with other states and the list had to be out by 1 Jul.

Does anyone know if it is out I can't seem to find it.

If it is not in the US Constitution then the Federal Government should not be doing it.

    +1 for checking w/AG office.

"Round these parts our AG will not give out any info-lest they become liable for false information

If I remember, different counties around Vegas had slightly different statues as it regard to weapons. Blue card (registered pistol) for Clark, you can keep a loaded pistol in your car, but not in a briefcase or bag w/o CC permit.

Pardon me, but that's nonsense. If that's the policy of your AG, he or she needs to be removed from office.

A state Attorney General, whether appointed or elected, is nonetheless a public servant; he or she works for the people.
In most states, the AG carries the additional title of Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the State.

In addition to enforcing the law, the AG has a duty to interpret the law and to inform the people (the AG's bosses) of said interpretation through published opinions.

There can be no excuse for an AG to give out false information. That would amount to malfeasance in office.

    "North Las Vegas

9.32.080 Deadly weapon prohibited in vehicle--Exceptions.
It is unlawful for any person to have in his possession in any automobile, truck, motorcycle, or any other type of vehicle any dangerous or deadly weapon, but this restriction shall not be deemed to prohibit the carrying of ordinary tools or equipment carried in good faith for uses of honest work, trade or business, or for the purpose of legitimate sport or recreation."

SB 92, passed recently, appears to preempt this ordinence effective October 1, 2007

yes. a CCW exempts you from all local ordinances that were grandfathered in when state preemption was passed.

The bill doesn't go into affect until October 1, 2007. By that time, the first list will be posted. In the future, the list will be updated no later than July 1 of each year. And NV isn't broadening their reciprocity, they're starting it. Unlike most states NV DPS will be responsible for the list (not the AG office). Also, the NV Sheriffs and Chiefs Association (NSCA) has the right veto any state that DPS puts on the list. Let's hope they don't use that power too frequently, if at all.

Thas what I thought-but our local NRA affiliate has tried many a times to get the AG to give a ruling or sorts for the legislature. No go.

It may sound good on paper but in reality its much more difficult to get these guys to do anything.
