Cause some people are stupid, and they have guns too.
The Problem: When stupid people do stupid things, smart people end up getting killed.
I live near Richmond, VA, and the brutal murder of the Harvey family during a home invasion robbery convinced me that I needed to be able to better defend my family. I am a veteran, and grew up around guns, but had never purchased one of my own. So I bought a Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro at a gun show, and applied for my CHP. I soon added an XD 9 Subcompact to the arsenal.
In March, I had a below the knee amputation on my left leg, due to complications from diabetes. I now have another reason to carry in order to defend myself and my family, since I am even more of a potential target for the BGs than I was on two legs.

I am armed for a simple reason, to protect my family and my home. I am not really concerned that I personally will ever be attacked, I avoid trouble, don't argue w/people/ avoid road rage incidents, respect almost all, avoid the rest,/ have extensive practical martial arts and cqc knife fighting skills. I also live in south florida where home invasions, and hurricane disaster/ civil unrest scenarios can and have occurred. The best martial art, other than avoiding trouble is "gun go bang". Also, if you are going to carry fulltime , take SEVERAL defensive handgun training courses and practice well. Stay safe.
All the Best.
Once upon a time, I had a dream about a mall shooting, and the dream repeated several times, so I started carrying. Let's hope some dreams never come true.
