85 Days Later....And YES!

As I'm driving home from Charlotte this morning, my wife calls me and asks what type of trouble I'm in because there is a letter from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division sitting on our table that had just arrived.

While still doing the speed limit of course, I get home about an hour later and find a new shiney permit in the envelope and nothing else.

I've been waiting on this for what seems like forever as I travel to NC quite a bit and they do not have acceptable gun journey laws. I find myself stopping at a rest area near the border, take the gun out of the center console, unload it, and lock it up in a gun case and put it in the back of the truck. No more of that!

I show the permit it to my wife and all she had to say was "That's a terrible picture of you." I explained that any picture of me is a bad picture :)

Congratulations! I'm still waiting on mine.

Congrats! I got my notice in the mail today to pick mine up Monday, so I know the feeling. I only had to wait 10 days, though. 85 seems kind of ridiculous. What the heck do they do there, run your freaking DNA and take stool samples? :rant:

Just got my non-resident FLA and the wait was 68 days

When I saw the header of your post I just knew that you had to be a fellow South Carolinian, I received mine last Saturday after 83 days. I was kind of surprised when it came in that big envelope all by its lonesome. I think I expected some kind of exhortation on safe carry or something. I have the same ugly picture of me on both my SCDL and my CCW; they just accessed my DMV file and used the same photo, even though they had me submit 2 photos with the application.

In oklahoma the wait can be greater than 90 days. I'm on day 52 so far, it sucks :(

Congratulations on the new plastic. Texas has an expected wait anywhere from 30 to 60 days. I am on Day 39.........
