Since it is a state park can you carry there?
No, not yet...maybe next year.
I'm sorry, I'm cornfused...the city of Gaitlinburg is located in a TN state park - which is off-limits for carry?
What about Pigeon Forge?
I'll be down in both cities in Sept and was planning on carrying, but was gonna check the TN rules & regs first. :yup:
I wasn't aware that Gatlinburg is in a state park. It's surrounded by a national park, so it's easy to wander into the national park when you are driving around in the Gatlinburg area. So be careful with that, but I don't think the city of Gatlinburg is in a state park.

I would agree that Gatlinburg per se is not in a state or national park. As jhnpeterman says, be careful into what areas you wander. The legislation to allow carry in national forests and state parks was tabled this year in Tennessee. http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?id=3076
Hey Guys just some clarification on carrying in gatlinburg. The city is not located in in the Great Smoky Mountains. It is however on the boundaries of the park. Just be sure your permit is recongnized by TN. I liive and work in Sevier county and carry everyday.
I called the Gatlinburg PD and they said it was off limits.
Me and the wife were there just a few weeks ago. Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Gatlinburg... I carried the whole time everywhere we went. I didn't notice any signs anywhere except for one sign at the start of a hike up the mountainside to Laural Falls - I think there was one there.
I wasn't aware that a whole city could declare itself to be gun free in Tennessee. Any business can do that, all parks are off limits as well as schools and any business that sells alcohol for on-premises consumption, but I'm not sure a city can legally forbid carry.
