hey great site. Wish more people would take the initiative.
scroll down just a bit and click on the
George Mason Campus Leader Andre Dysart on WUSA 9 TV link
Funny to hear the people suggest other means of protection like cell phone hotlines.
    Whats it going to take?

Great Cause. May I reccomend that the college students here change the homepage of every computer at campus you come across to concealedcampus.com. Get the word out.

How things have changed! In the mid 1970s I was at the University of Alabama and most of the senior cadets in Army ROTC had CCW and routinely carried on campus and even into class! No big deal and never a SINGLE problem. Not ever. It was like wearing glasses or SHOES for that matter. Even my professors in the school of Criminal Justice supported it. I came in one morning after a scary incident off campus where I'd had to actually DRAW and it was made the subject of a class discussion for the day. Most of the cops were in agreement I should have SMOKED the punk but I'm glad it didn't come to that. I've recounted that story before, elesewhere on this board.

I was going to attempt this. But my university has a ghost program that removes everything that is saved when the computer is used and turned off. I did enjoy using those computers though if I wanted to download a program for one of my games or the like and I was unsure if it had a virus.

My goal is to petition Virginia Tech next year to get this ridiculous policy changed. I have contacted concealcampus about a chapter at VT.

These gun-free-zone policies need to change.

Most campuses employ this method to public access computers unfortunately.

Things may have changed, but last time I was on a college campus the computers were set up to limit what you could do to them. It wasn't possible to change home pages without having admin rights.

Bumer. At the University I work at I've yet to see a computer shut down. The kids change wallpaper and homepages all the time. I would change the homepages Myself but they'd probably can me for it.

Students for Concealed Carry on Campus Empty Holster Protest

Week long protest to allow concealed carry on campus

Students for Concealed Carry on Campus

    Time and Place
Start Time: Monday, October 22, 2007 at 12:05am
End Time: Friday, October 26, 2007 at 11:55pm
Location: All Institutes of Higher Learning in America
    City/Town: National

Students who are already concealed carry license holders in many states are forced to disarm when coming to school, even though we are allowed to go nearly anywhere else in the state while armed. We want to extend our ability to protect ourselves and those around us onto campus, where we spend a majority of our time.

Wear an empty holster to class all week to demonstrate that you are just one more trained individual that is forced to disarm, showing that there is one less person to defend those on campus in a worst case scenario.

Even those who do not have a license but support the cause are strongly encouraged to participate. Power in numbers, and a nation of students concerned about their safety is a strong message from a lot of people.

My university only prohibits illegal guns. So I assume I can conceal carry.

IANAL, but I would contact an attorney in Colorado to be certain...don't assume.
