    Smile Its that time!

After a long, long wait (92 days, out of the maximum 90 days allowed by law).. I was able to go pick up my permit this morning.

The Wally World visit will have to wait till this weekend due to my schedule, but I'll make it there.. I've already downloaded Miggy's map.

After carrying for a few hours today, I've discovered a few things:
    1) I Love my Cochise Defender from K&D Holsters

    2) I'm a "tugger" as in, I seem to constantly catch myself tugging at the back of my shirt, to make sure it hasn't ridden up. I'm hoping this goes away after a little while (and once I get a few more shirts that are a size bigger)

    3) My shirt rides up..every single time I get out of a car..whether it is my Jeep or the wife's mini-van. Not sure how I can prevent this, or if I just have to plan on always giving the shirt a little tug as I get out.

    4) I bend at the waist...alot.. like for everything I would normally bend down for (picking up kids, putting kids in car seats, picking stuff off the ground)..this causes my shirt to ride up, and (obviously) prints quite a bit.. gotta work on this one.

Glad the waiting is finally over though.

    Cochise - good? Yep, check.

''Tugger'' - work on that - but you can still do it if disguised. If you make as to go into your pants pocket that can include a check. Also useful to keep elbow close in now and again - another check that's discrete.

T-shirts do ride up - but try and find some longer ones and - just check before getting out of vehicle.

Bending - get used to knees bend ... better for your back anyways!

Glad your long wait is over

Congrats.. I wear alot of t shirts. I buy them a little bigger than needed. I use to be a tugger, but rarley do it anymore unless I get out of the car or soemthing. Once you get use to carrying and get you garments figured out, it'll subside..

I'm a self proclaimed Tugger too! That's another reason why I tuck. If your Cochise Defender has the clips try tucking loosely. When I tuck I have a lot more confidence that my shirt won't inadvertantly ride up and expose my weapon.

    Congrats on getting your permit!

congrats, eat some nachos for me

you will get used to everything after awhile,
the tugging will go away once you discover that unless a big gust of wind blows up your shirt, you're not flashing like you think you might be

    A Tugger?

I have been carrying concealed since 1970, the CW doesn't bother me. I don't even notice it's there.

Its the damm cell phone, I find myself checking to see if it has fell out of the holder

    Congrats!!!

I am not surprised it took Denver that long. I was really happy when I found out I could keep my Adams County permit even after I moved into Denver. I can even renew there

I am a tugger as well, though I do it a LOT less then when I started. I do however make sure I am covered when I get out of a vehicle, after a little practice it just becomes one motion to get out while you hand is making sure your cover garment is in place. Looks completely natural.

Go to Champs! it is a sporting good store.

They have what i call gang banger tee shirts, real long.

They are like $5 each i buy them, and they never let your piece show.

Have fun, carry safe, be aware, and most of all!

Congrats. It will get easier, but must be mindful of your gun and cover garment to avoid printing/flashing. Remember to bend at the knees. Windy days can also be challenging.

It was actually Arapahoe County that took that long to issue..while nice the entire time, they didn't seem overly concerned with hitting the 90 days (and with good reason, it would appear the "shall issue in 90 days" portion of our law, is..."toothless" as I couldn't find any penalties should the Sheriff fail to complete it in 90 days).

But yeah, not having to worry about doing more then changing my address with Arapahoe County regardless of where I move in the next 5 years is going to be nice.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.
