Thumbs up Carried my new XD for the first time....

So, I carried my new XD-40 subcom for the first time today, unfortunetly, it wasn't to Wally World for nachos. A buddy and I were on our way to a gunshow and decided to stop at 7-Eleven for some drinks and cash first, well, we went in did our stuff and got back in the truck, he was driving and I reaced back and pulled it out cuz I didn't know if I was legally allowed to carry in a gunshow, and to his surprise he didn't realize that I had it on me. He is licensed to, so I don't mind letting him know. We had talked about me being a lil concerned about carrying it compared to my Jframe. I'm a big framed guy and sometimes its hard to conceal a semi. Well, the way I see it, if a fellow CCW'er couldn't tell, thats a for me. Once i get a better holster for it, then it will be my daily winter carry. I'm thinkin another Crossbreed, but I might like to try something different, so I'll take any suggestions.

Can't help with the holster selection but congrats on the XD. I have a XD-9 bi-tone service model and a XD-45 tactical. Hope to soon pick up a XD-45 compact. Great guns!

Good job... sounds like you're happy with the new pistol.

Good luck on the holster search... I'd be of no use as I go batty trying to find a holster for myself!

+1 for the Crossbreed Supertuck! I love mine. It's very comfortable and it was very reasonably priced as well..

Yes felt really good. I'm use to carrying a revolver and I had no problem carrying with one in the chamber like alot of people do when they first start carrying a semi-auto. I love my XD.

I have a crossbreed and it has been relegated to that draw full of unused holsters. I am also a big framed guy, and the holster I use all the time is the Smart Carry: http://www.smartcarry.com/scinvi.htm

It can be used for several guns. I can carry my j-frame, or my pt-140 or my Ruger sp-101 in the same rig; of course not all at the same time.

So you didn't like the Crossbreed huh? I had one for a Sig P245 and really liked it, I have one for my Jframe and really like it, but just thought I'd try something different. What model is your unused Crossbreed for? Wouldn't be for a XDsubcompact would it?
