Dose anyone know what has happend to that venerable site?
It's been down for a couple of days now. I hope they get it up and running soon.
Gary Slider - member here - used to be involved running PDO but some months ago set up a new site for info on carry and state laws etc.
http://www.handgunlaw.us/ ........ he tries to keep this pretty up to date.
another happy customer with handgunlaw.us here
My only wish was that it used less PDFs and more html but that's just personal taste on my part.
+1 for handgunlaw.us !!!
I stopped going to packing after I found this site.
I almost forgot about PDO.
Stopped going there when I found DC.com.
If you find yourself getting upset with the moderators here, just go and spend a few days at PDO. You will come back loving the mods here.
OK. . . . .Bumper? Moderators? . . . . .. do I get any brownie points here? Maybe a free gun or something? :image035:
I left PDO after I found this place due to all of the childish banter going on over there. I think I have been back twice in the last year.
Handgunlaw is the site that I use for legal questions.
That site was a waste of time! It was good at one time, but that time has gone long ago. The forum software is terrible at best. I really don’t care whether they come back online or not.
I visit PDO, But I live here.
I have a definite soft spot for PDO. I hope they're up and running again very soon.
I agree that it might not be what it used to be, but there are good reasons for that (the dude who ran/runs it started law school is one), and for a time it was a great place to start if you were doing web research on guns and CCW & etc.
Good luck to them.
I left there over a year ago & haven't been back since.
I have not visited PDO since finding this site. I lost interest in it when I saw how much better this site was.
The stupid rating system they put in effect after getting rid of the Mods really ran it into the dumper. This site is infinitely better.
I agree with you, it was a venerable site. As you can see there are other opinions about that. Unfortunately, SLMN.ORG doesn't show any info either. This being Mark's home site and not being maintained doesn't bode well for PDO. DC and Handgunlaw are great sites as well and there are others. It's just a shame to lose one more site for gathering info and discussion among friends.
