    "Israeli" style concealed carry shirts....

A while back, there was a thread that advertised a company selling shirts like those often seen being worn my security personnel in Israel. They are similar to Guayabera shirts but a bit more plain. I have been unable to find that company. Anybody have a lead on the site?
    Thanks,

I think you're thinking of the Shabak bodyguard jacket.

ccw9mm is right. You can get the Shabak at http://www.zahal.org, along with all sorts of other Israeli military items. I have a Shabak and like it a lot. It's a nice casual jacket, and since it's short sleeve, it's appropriate for a hot clime like San Antonio.

Be aware, if you order one, order at least one size larger than you normally would. They run quite small.

I have two of them, and wear one at least once a weekend. I wore one yesterday over a shirt, and it was 103 degrees. No problem. You will like them! I keep a slim pocketknife in the front right hand pocket for weight to clear the weapon, and it works well.

I have one and wear it frequently. If you order one, remember they are tailored on the snug side, so order one size larger than you normally wear. (X-large if you wear large, for example).

Oops, sorry, Rodc13, I didn't notice you already posted the size warning.

Some of us are dense and probably need to hear it more than once.

    Thanks for the tip!

I like the looks of those shirts, and I agree that they would look a little better than my 5.11 vest (that I seldom wear)...
I just ordered two of them, one black, one tan...can't wait to try one!

So what makes them any more appropriate for concealed carry than another shirt/jacket?

Is this going to be the new photographers vest?

Nothing makes them more or less appropriate. They're just another option for your wardrobe, that's all.

That's what this forum is all about, presenting options and alternatives.

Since these jackets are relatively uncommon, they probably won't pose any danger to the popularity of vests. But if more folks start wearing them, who knows? They are a lot less conspicuous than the typical "shoot me first" vest.

I bought one, but ordered my actual size, which makes it too small to do any good. But, since my weight goes up and done from time to time, it may be of use in the future. If you get one, make sure you order up one size.

I bought one too; http://www.zahal.org/shabak/index.htm but it really doesn't fit in too well with my wardrobe!

Not sure if any part of Florida is ok for another layer of shirt. I think the temperature stayed at 95 Degrees into 8:30pm one day. I keep going back to using pocket carry.
