My Momma occasionally asks to go shooting with me to check her form & the function of her pistol. She's of the opinion that ammo "gets stale" so she uses the occasion to refresh her mags and buy new SD ammo. She also asks me to clean & lube her pistol after we're done. She's a sharp 76 years old. And I wouldn't suggest a forced entry into her house because she'll SHOOT whatever the dogs leave behind for scraps. God Bless her sweet, kind heart.

Seriously, I liked listening to Boortz when I lived in Florida, but he always said that since he's in Atlanta that he'd never be broadcast in New England because he's too "redneck". Now that I'm in Connecticut, I see that he was right.

And that cutie Belinda! Did you ever hear Royal's rendition of "Boo got shot"?

You're all fortunate. Moms don't last forever. Enjoy, honor, and protect them as long as you've got 'em.

    Advice from Mom

Once at the lunchtable at work, the topic that came was "What advice did your mother give you that you will always remember?"

I mentioned that my mother frequently told me "Never forget about the round in the chamber." She really drove that one home to me when I was growing up.

Needless to say, it was rather different from what the other folks remembered from their Moms.

OH my, I'm only 10 years from senility. Young'ins, we older people have some experience in life. And still have our mental faculaties. Since 60, started a new medical device company and have 3 new patents. but ya, not interested in rowdy sports bars. You will catch up.

Possibly the oldest resurrected thread on the board... Someone did some digging.
