Carry in Universal Studios, FL
I did a search on this one, and came up with nothing helpful specifically related to Universal Studios. It's always Disney that people talk about.
Wifey and I were interested in a trip to Universal Studios for the Halloween Horror Nights, and I'm wondering how extensive they search, if at all. Bag checks? Wandings? Walk-through detectors?
Anybody have a clue?
I'll take a .45 and a large side of JHPs, please.

I am an Orlando resident, as I recall they did not search me period. But then again they do change procedures from year to year. It is HHN I think you would fairly safe with the exception of Dead things n such just an opinion though

I've been to most of the parks in Florida, and carried on my body, never off-body. Backpacks and purses get searched, but I've never been wanded or patted-down.

According to some reviews, Universal is using metal detectors at the park for the Halloween events: http://www.allearsnet.com/uni/tp/hhn.htm

I was there in 2004 and carried my G27 with two spare mags on my person. My bags were searched but I was not patted down, did not get searched with a wand and did not have to go through a metal detector.
Good luck.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
Still can't believe what happened on 11/06/12! Disgusted and disappointed!

Went there this past spring with a school group (which ment NO firearms for me that trip). No searches or metal detectors. I also noticed no signs prohibiting either. I looked.
Dosn't mean anything has/hasn't changed though.

I will confirm the use of metal detectors at past Halloween horror nights. I would not recommend carrying at that venue for the following reasons:
1) Metal detectors
2) They are trying to scare and threaten you - it's part of the experience
3) Alcohol - could be considered a "place of nuisance" (bar)
I was able to carry a knife in by putting it next to my keys- i set off the metal detector and they used a wand on me, when it went off over my pocket I just pulled out my keys and showed them (they didn't re-wand my pocket) and put them back so I was good to go.
Normally I carry in the parks - but for such a venue I do not. I also give up my right to carry when I drink as I would not want impaired judgement to allow me to make a poor decision.

I don't know of any way to fool the metal detectors at the park, so I'm trying to figure something else out.

Was that for the grad bash? They did wand us for that! Even our school cop could not carry...

Halloween event tend to bring out a less "docile" crowd than the parks normally have. Those cases will see the use of wands more than others.
