Wait times for permits?
This is a discussion on Wait times for permits? within the Concealed Carry Issues & Discussions forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; That's definitely a possibility, however they'd be risking a VERY big riot. They're not taking mine,no way.
Hopefully the states can get enough reciprocity agreements ...

Hopefully the states can get enough reciprocity agreements to make it moot.Unfortunately the in-laws live in NJ,so I have to travel through MD and NJ every few months.

The law passed by the Repblican Governer and State Congress was permit shall be issued or denied in 30 days, mine was 27. However, the law would not be passed today. The dems took over!!

Oregon is a "shall-issue" state and has a 45-day limit mandated by ORS 166.292. For me, it was just a few weeks. No requirement on it to identify the guns being carried; no permit for a gun purchase; no wait times for a purchase, other than clearing the background check with the state police, though nothing's reuqired when doing a face-to-face purchase.

I don't not think that the chances of this happening are likely. The reason is that the laws of the states are too far apart to set this in motion unless the proposed federal statute establishes a uniform set of the standards. For example, there are some states that will issue on the date of application (which means no real comprehensive background check). Other states will do a thorough investigation and take a month to many months to complete the investigation. Then there are states which allow complete unrestricted open carry.
All that being said, I don't think that the political climate in Washington is ameneable to such a law at this time, but that is just a guess, and I may well be wrong on this guess.

LMAo you folks should try coming to visit Ireland
Over here from the day you make you initial application for a CCW it can and routinely does take anything up to 18 months. Many of our people have had to go to court just to force the police to make a decision.
Surrounded and outnumbered, pass me my vest!
