A concealed-carry proponent has already taken Utah's governor and lieutenant governor to the range for a session in firearms safety and has his sights set on educating some more of the state's leading figures on laws regarding guns. He's Representative Curtis Oda, and he's making gun prohibitionists angry with what they call "exposure lobbying."

I get the impression that here in Maryland the only way we'd get most of our government folks to a range would be at gun point............ Guess that would defeat the purpose!

This is clearly unfair. The anti's should demand equal time. Then they could take legislators to a gun store and show them how much fun it is to not buy a gun. They could go to a range and not shoot. Finally they could go on an unarmed walking tour of some of our nation's "finest" urban areas, preferably at night. The legislators would clearly see how much better it is to not have access to those bad, bad guns and the rotten, horrible, tax-paying, responsible, hard working, patriotic people who own them.

Haha - what a crock!! All lobbying is good by me - seeing as much that is done could be classed as way more sneaky than this, that's for sure.

If folks were remotely rational and fair they'd accept this as a logical way to show law makers just what guns are all about - which in many cases would help reverse their usual desultory knowledge and attitudes.

True, but when you put this into the anti-gun perspective it is unfair. The anti-gun folks are all about turning the US into what you escaped from in the UK, a place by the way using the military to help the police force due to high crime.

Isn't it just like the anti's? They've given it a name, and will try to use the term in a derogatory fashion until they've created it as a new, unethical practice. "Exposure lobbying" will become something that unethical conservatives do. Of course, when they do the same thing, it won't be called "exposure lobbying".

We wouldn't want our law makers to actually KNOW something "First Hand" about an issue that they intended to vote on. That would be UNAMERICAN.
