    Traveling Door Alarm

    As seen on PDTV tonight, where can i get a traveling door alarm.. i like that idea

    I also saw this and I think it is a great idea for people staying at hotels

    Doesn't the door have to open inward for the jamb alarm to work? How many hotels open this way?

    Everyone I've been in for the past decade. I spend 250+ nights a year in hotels and all the doors open inward. I didn't know it was even allowed for the room door to open outward.

    I think that the convention is for doors like that to open inward because of the problems you'd have if they all opened into the faces of people in the hallways -- that and the fact that if they opened outward they could be far more easily maliciously blocked.

    Imagine, for example, some squirt accelerant under the door, starts a fire in your room, and then chocks the door so you can't push it outward!
