So I was wondering who all is a member and recieves that magazine... I was thinking of joining, and if you join now you get like 24 free back issues.. Also if I join now, at the end of the year I can get my $69 back in form of a gift card to their store... So is it worth the $69..

I've taken it for several years now and there's a lot of good info in it. Most, or similar, information can be found in other gun mags, but with CCM you get all the info (carry issues, training resources, products and other CC related stuff) in one place rather than searching through a dozen different sources.

It's a "by subscription only" magazine so you can't simply buy a single issue from your local Wally-World or gun shop to see what's in it. You can always try it and if it's not what you want, don't renew. BTW, I believe the $69 also includes a membership in the USCCA (United States Concealed Carry Association).

Compared with some mag' sub's it can seem rather steep but - this is a specialist publication very much ''for us'' - and while no longer a fledgling venture (must be about three years now, probably four) .. it is still growing and needs to grow more.

The USCCA is also a part of this and needs to grow more too. Tim does a weekly newsletter on the site for members and this and the whole package do IMO represent good value - the cost seems high mainly in a relative sense.

I would suggest that if anyone can afford it they will not only be getting good material but, further helping in a sense our never-ending RKBA battle.

Just my 2c, as a member.

I don't know if I would subscribe to the magazine. Have you seen some of the people they have put on the cover of that thing. Highly suspect if you ask me.

It is incredibly expensive to operate a magazine; most publications fail within two years because they can't afford to operate. Printing, distribution, and other costs aren't covered if there aren't enough subscribers and advertisers. So CCM is expensive now - but in a few years, when more people subscribe and there's more advertisers, the cost for the reader should be more reasonable.

I was a member, loved the magazine, but did not find much of interest in the Forum, so now I just get the magazine. It is less then $69, but can't recall what the rate for the magazine is.

I subscribed for a year and actually spoke highly of it initially. As I got more issues found the content to be amateurish in some cases, included info that was pretty commonly found elsewhere, plus it was very pricey, so I dropped it.

Not worth it in my opinion.

Is this the magazine you are refering to?

http://www.usconcealedcarry.com/

If so it is well worth the money if you are mainly interested in CC issues, guns, and equipment. You will not find articles about fishing, rifles, hunting, or anything that does not pertain to CC. That makes it worth the price in my book as I don't read half of other magazines that are priced less. I read this one cover to cover.

I'm a member, and I do enjoy the magazine.

Not a perfect read, but it is improving.

I support this venture as these are like-minded people, and like-minded people in this world of well organized and well heeled antis NEED to stick together.

It may seem a tad expensive, but I for one throw a lot more money than that towards other things that do our causes absolutely no good.

Join if you have the extra money.............

Big +1
I have been a member for three years now. the Mag is great with outstanding well written articles. IMHO
One of the real nice things about the mag is the fact that everything is in order as you read it. None of this page 4, then going to page 73, then back to page 48 to finish the article.

I've been a subscriber for almost a year now. I pay monthly for $7. I get access to the website, the forums, back issues, etc. I find the information to be good actually. I like that it is focused totally on the CCW crowd. I've even gotten my wife to start reading it.

How do the mags come to your house.. i just dont want a cc magazine open for everyone to see

So how many brown envelopes do you get a month?

*******************************************

Actually I only get the magazine and it is less than $69 per year...somewhere around $32, I think...

I do enjoy the magazine...

I have been receiving the Mag for about 3 yrs. It is a great magazine and after the first year I joined as a member. It is an excellant organization and an even better magazine. The adavntage of receiving the mag in a brown envelope, you can leave the old ones in a Doctor's waiting room, laundramat etc. and maybe enlighten someone without your name being on the mag cover.

$69 is for a years subscription and unlimited access to their website. I believe it's worth the price. It's the only magazine targeted to concealed carry folks. I joined last year and am going to renew for another year.
