Anyone here know the average wait time for a Utah ccw permit ??

Last I heard it was 6 months or more.

I've had my application in since July and still haven't seen it. I hear it's a 5-6 months wait for out-of-state residents. You can go to their website http://www.bci.utah.gov/ and see what the date for in-state and out-of-state applications they are working on.

As of today, here is what is says:

We are currently processing concealed permit application for Utah residents received on August 4, 2007.

We are currently processing concealed permit applications for out-of-state residents received on June 15, 2007

They were 6 months or so behind.. but according to their website, they seem to be catching up pretty quick.

I first got a Utah permit about the year 2001. The wait time then was between 50 and 60 days, as I recall.

It sounds like the popularity of the permit has grown faster than the staff assigned to do the work of issuing them.

Sorry to say our group has not helped with the long wait. We do roughly 40 students per month here in Oregon for roughly the past year for the Utah permit.
