I will be traveling to Georgia next week, I plan on packing my Glock. I am just wondering if Georgia will honor my NC CCW permit.

Yes. Georgia honors the North Carolina permit. You can check on the law at http://www.handgunlaw.us/

Enjoy your trip to Georgia. Things aren't terribly bad here and you shouldn't have to many problems.

    Careful...
I hear that you can carry in your motel room, in your car, and in the parking lot of your motel...
    Most other places have restrictions...
Seriously, check the 'off limits' places carefully!

In this day and age - a Glock (or insert handgun of choice here) and a gallon of water are lifesavers. Don't be surprised if someone tries to mug you for your water!

Ohio must be Georgia's sister state. Same goofy law is in force here.

A public gathering is defined and includes, but is not limited too, athletic or sporting events, churches or church functions, political rallies and/or functions, publicly owned or operated buildings, and establishments at which alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises.

So when I go to play disc golf at a park near here where other people are playing, I have to imagine that's considered a "sporting event". And even if it's not a "sporting event" when I just go on my own to play, the tournament I was in a few weeks ago would probably end up being considered a prohibited location.

This is what happens when too much compromise is made just to get CCW on the books. I don't like it.

Don't worry.... we definitely don't consider disc golf a sport.

Ahh, sarcastic comment about disc golf. Nice. Designed to digress from discussion of Georgia's horrible carry laws, I presume.

Well, not to worry, I don't really, either. To me, it's an amazingly fun GAME to play. (Just like bowling is not a sport, but a game. Same as darts.)

More from that link to Georgia's moronic (anti-)carry law:

Carrying deadly weapons on public transportation; It is against the law in Georgia to carry or attempt to carry a deadly weapon onto a commercial airline, rail vehicle, or bus. This is considered attempted hijacking in Georgia (and it is a felony offense). It does not matter whether or not you are licensed to carry.
    ...
State parks, historic sites, and recreational areas; the term 'park, historic site, or recreational area' means a park, historic site, or recreational area which is operated by or for and is under the custody and control of the Department of Natural Resources. It is unlawful for any person to use or possess in any park, historic site, or recreational area any firearms, bows and arrows, spring guns, air rifles, slingshots, or any other device which discharges projectiles by any means, unless the device is unloaded and stored so as not to be readily accessible or unless such use has been approved within restricted areas by prior written permission of the commissioner of natural resources or his authorized representative.
I guess any further citation of Georgia's carry restrictions would be overkill at this point. What a lunatic place. The list of places where you MAY carry is whittled down, by deduction, to like three, it seems. Everyplace else is a minefield of possible FELONY charges!
