CCW at DCU Center Worcester, MA

I have a class A LTC for MA. Has anyone ever carried at the DCU Center? I'm going to see Van Halen on Sept 6th and as always want to take my sidearm.

Many rock concerts use metal detectors.

No idea if this will occur at the Van Halen concert, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised.

I wouldn't ask the venue either, as the automatic answer to carrying firearms anywhere in MA is "NO, we don't allow it" . . . even if it's legal and there is no security in a place.

Went to ozzfest in NJ and they did a bag search but it was a very poor one. Saw Nickelback, Daughtry and Staind in Hershey, PA and the security pretty much sucked. No metal detector and no patdowns. I might mention the only thing They seemed concerned about when we went to ozzfest was bottle caps. I cant really say what security will be like up there.

Most places with a large group of people like this now do bag checks. I was walking into a Kenny Chesney concert a couple of months ago in St. Louis and as I was waking through the gates a guy came up to me a quickly frisked me without saying a word. So he was either doing his job or he thought I was cute.

My wife asked what he as doing and I said checking for a CCW and her comment was, "you left it in the car. right??" In MO you can't carry in stadiums that seat more than 5000.

Many thanks for the replies. Since it is illegal to leave a gun in a car unattended in MA., I will just have to leave it home for this one.

Not true. You can leave it locked in the trunk, unloaded. Check MGL again or read up on the laws in the Mass Gun Laws sub-forum on Northeastshooters.com. A lot of info there with citations direct to MGLs.
