Yeah, good reminder!
When I renewed mine, the first day I could by law, I still didn't get my new permit till it was almost passed my expiration date!

You'd think there would be some sort of grace period if you were carrying with an expired license.

When I called the Chester County Sheriff regarding that they told me not to worry about the adress until it expired, just make sure that you have the change of address card from PENDOT with you...
...unless you moved to a different county.

I got my addy changed with PennDOT... and I am still in the issuing county. So I guess there is no issue

My permit was up for renewal Nov 21 2007, but I was going on a trip the 17the of Aug. so I printed the application off the computer and wrote out a check and sent it in on Monday and left on my trip that Friday. Returned home on the 26th Sunday and went to the post office on the 27th of Aug and my renewal was there. My new permit now expires Nov. 21 2011. So how is that for service. This is in TN.

That's another thing I like about FL...my last renewal was 10 days, door to door!
Hope you have yours quickly!

In Iowa it depends upon what county you are in (we are a MAY issue state, the MAY being up to each individual county sherriff of which we have 99). My county of residence is very easy, stop at Sherriffs office, fill out renewal, get picture taken and 3 days later have new card.....

I beat ya, ret!
My last Montana renewal took 3 days, from new mug shot to permit in hand.

We don't even do pics here. Only do fingerprints the first time. It has to go through 4 people in the sheriff's department before going to the Circuit Court. That's the part that is just mind-boggling.

I didn't even need prints, just the app. proof of training and the $50,time for approval was 13 days, no Sherrif's dept, just went into the Circuit Court Clerks office and filled out my app. there on the spot, they even let me use their copy machine.
