No Human Form Targets Allowed at Bass Pro Shops
I went to the Bass Pro Shop at lunch time with three other guys from the office to get in some range time. I printed out a couple of human silhouette targets with the numbered rings for each guy. We were finishing up our second magazine when the range guy came in and told us that we could not use human form targets. He said that it was corporate policy. We obliged him with no arguements but did ask him if he could tell us the reason behind the policy. He said that he did not know but he had to uphold it. Anyone else experience anything like this before?
I was thinking about leaving the torso rings, adding a standard target at the head area and removing the human silhouette to see if they would say anything about that.

I would just print out "circle" targets in the shape of a person.

I believe that the state of Massachusetts makes the use of human forms illegal for target practice. I'm not sure why.

That IS my shape...
Many of the ranges that I have used have had the same polity...not really a problem for me!

Maybe it's time to let Bass Pro Shop know that kissing the liberals is the wrong market to be sucking up to!
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a
delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly
promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media,
which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely
possible to pick up a **** by the clean end."
ALWAYS carry! - NEVER tell!

judgement to keep himself out of situations that would require a display of his
superior skills."

It's their range, their rules.
They have a perfect right to set rules. They don't have to give a reason.
You have a perfect right to take your business elsewhere if you don't like their rules.
I was thinking about leaving the torso rings, adding a standard target at the head area and removing the human silhouette to see if they would say anything about that.
Why press the issue? Why not just use approved targets? What's the point of possibly antagonizing the RSO over targets?
I don't see the problem here.
When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

The problem, as I see it, is the implication behind the rule. "Corporate policy," eh? We know that it didn't come about randomly:
Moe: "I move that we ban human targets"
Curly: "Makes no sense to me, but who cares? All in favor say Aye . . . "
No, that's not what happened. Someone proposed it with firmly stated reasons and won the vote. What were the reasons? We can guess. And I resent it.
I went to buy some camouflage pants, but I couldn't find any.

Perhaps a query to the BPO headquarters would be in order? along with a " ... take my business elsewhere..." reference?

I wouldn't make a big deal about it, but I think it's idiotic. I don't practice with my handguns for Bullseye competition.
