CCW Reciprocity

Does anyone know which, if any, states offer ccw reciprocity with other state? In other words, I have a resident permit for Missouri. Are there other states that would issue a ccw based on my Missouri permit, or a FL, AR, LA, etc.?

I think the key would be if you have a resident permit rather than an out of state permit.

Check your Attorney Generals Webstite for the most up to date information as well as the AG's sites for any other states you may hold permits for.

While other websites are great for information, they may not always be up to date. The AG's website will be.

JD, not all AG's state websites are up todate. I did a little research on my state for a certification class and found the AG's site did not list 3 states that were not on the reciprocity list, that went back as far as 4-6 months.

I think you mean that it didn't list three states that are on the reciprocity list?

Anyway, regardless of where the info is found, people should always check on a couple of different sights to make sure the info is correct and up to date. Usually the AG or State Police maintain the lists and do a pretty good job of of keeping them updated.

As seen in Jag's post, even the AGs site can be out dated, 4-6 months out of date is unsat.

But atleast they warn you:

You would be wrong about that. Ohio and many other states recognize licenses without regard to whether the license holder is an actual resident of the issuing state or not.

Only a small number of states do not recognize non-resident liceses. NH, FL, CO, and KS come to mind. There's a few more but not many.

...UNLESS you are in Tennessee. The Department of Safety reciprocity site hasn't been updated in several years, even after I emailed them repeated and asked them to do so....
