I got made
Sorry for the question mark. Wasn't sure if "made" is the word to use....
I took my GF's SUV to the gas station to get some air in the tires. The engine was on and the air compressor was loud all while I was crouched down trying not to print TOO badly. So it took me a minute to realize that a guy standing behind my SUV was trying to get my attention. I do appreciate the fact that he was keeping his distance. He says, "excuse me sir, I have my wife in the truck and we ran out of gas and was hoping if you could spare a dollar?" I looked at the truck, it was MUCH newer than mine but all the change went into the AIR pump at the station. I told him "no sir, all my change went into that machine." So he says, "Oh, well, okay then, thank-you.....And by the way, your gun is showing".

I immediately jumped up and said "Oh, thank-you." and that was it. The End.

ALWAYS carry! - NEVER tell!

Probably would have had a little cash if he didnt have a $40,000 truck.
That is weird that he came up on u & asked u even though he saw a gun.

True, but why wouldnt he approach if he was legit in needing a couple of bucks to get home? I dont think that would bother me if I truly needed help.

My buddy has a 4x4 Frontier... its a gas hog. My Jeep does better, and my Jeep pretty much sucks down the gas.

Well, thats what I thought at first. By the way. He had a 2000-something Nissan Frontier. I thought those trucks were great on gas?

Ditto: 'minds me of Romans 13:3 - For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. This covers LEOs of course, but Skippy still fits in under the category of "defender of Truth, Justice, and the American Way".
Sounds like he was cool - aside from his polite demeanor and distance, the fact that he approached you knowing you were armed kind of suggests a good guy with a true need and no ulterior motives.

I would also scratch my head and wonder why I need to give a few bucks to someone who chooses to drive a vehicle so much nicer than mine. Live with-in your means.
Did you have your weapon looking it's Sunday best????

I agree with living within your means etc, but maybe he just forgot his wallet or something like that.
