Just got kicked out of Wal-Mart!
I came in from hunting this morning and forgot to take my revolver off my hip. I was stopped by the store greeter and told that only law enforcement is allowed to carry firearm into the store. She called an assistant manager over who explained that it is the store manager's discretion to allow or not allow firearms to be carried in the store, including CCW (KS ccw law went into effect last January).
I've ccw'd into this Wal-Mart multiple times (try every time I go there) as there is no "gunbuster" sign to be seen anywhere (these are required by state law in order to prohibit ccw). I can understand them not wanting me to open carry and I was "fine" with them asking me to lock my revolver in my truck before coming back in, but when the asst. manager told me that ccw is not allowed, I decided that I'm going to contact corporate hq about it, as I know they have corrected managers at other Wal-Marts about this.
Any tips on what to put in my email/call? Also what would the specific email addy be to contact them about this?
And yes, now that I'm at home, I'm going to change into my regular clothes, put my HS2000 into my Crossbreed SuperTuck IWB, and go back and buy what I planned on buying.

Your open gun Makes them nervous
So they said no to you, it's a liability thing. I as of yet have to see a Wally wold any where post a no CCW sign, thats not to say there is not one out there.
Heck when you buy a gun there they do a NICS on you but still carry the gun sans ammo to the front of the store before they let you have it, even the gun store in the mall does that.
Someday they may actually figure that the honest citizen is not the issue.

Oh, I understand they might have been nervous about open carry and I was willing to put it away, but when he told me that the store manager doesn't allow ccw, and that corprate has no say in the matter, that is when I decided I'm going to contact corporate about this.

Not sure who to call, but the call definitely needs to be made. You might be able to ask at the customer service location in Wal-Mart

So many people don't understand gun laws, and who can stand there and try to explain it to them without them getting upset. Its so hard sometimes.

I found this link.

Wal-Mart HQ is in Bentonville AR maybe some of our Arkansas members can help with phone #'s
On a personal note I never go into a Wal-Mart without a weapon. I usualy don't feel to uneasy in the stores but the trip to and from my truck is another thing alltogether. Just google wal-mart and robbery and you will have plenty of reasons to carry at wal-mart.

For email i am finding this form to submit http://walmartstores.com/GlobalWMSto...te.do?catg=221
from yahoo answers
tried that too, the only way you can contact them is to fill out that form, the other thing I suggest is to mail your corporate office a letter. hmmm it looks like you can do: I would also suggest if you are an employee to try WalMartGeneral@wmconnect.com customerservice@walmart.com Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Chances are that if you email them directly, a pion will read it and then delete it. You may fair better if you mail it directly to them, or call the corporate headquarters and state your complaint. here are some email addresses that I have found though, some may not be useful, but, I am posting them anyway for you. help@walmart.com musicdownloads@walmart.com Of course, I would be willing to bet that they have a catchall account somewhere, so, if you type the wrong thing in front it will automatically go to them. complaints@walmart.com feedback@walmart.com billing@walmart.com

See below. Make sure you click "Choose your local store" before you email your message and make sure you select the "Suggestions/Feedback" category.

Which is why I'm trying to get in contact with corporate hq about it so they can straighten the manager out.
But, who do I contact at corporate?

Your contact would fall under the broad umbrella of customer service which if i am not mistaken has a direct email of help@walmart.com, or used to . You will likely have to call the 800 no and go up the corperate food chain as high as you can if you choose to call .
edited to add fax ect..
Customer-service phone, fax, and e-mail. Phone: 800-966-6546 Email: help@walmart.com ...

I'd happily buy everything elsewhere, then send the manager the reciepts with a note explaining and a total spent.

I just talked with my local store manager. He said as long as I have a licence they don't have a problem but he asked if I would keep the weapon concealed, which is a no brainer for me. He also said that he did not know of any antigun mandate given by HQ.
You might need to get in touch with Bentonville to sort this out.

It's concealed!
There's no sign.
Who cares what the manager thinks?
