    Positive LEO Encounter, Fairfield, OH

This morning I decided to remodel the front of my Honda using someones mailbox and big rock in their front yard. Called the Fairfield police since I also managed to take down one of their road signs. Officer responded, Officer Tiernan, and as required by Ohio law, I informed him that I was a legal concealed carry holder and was indeed armed, what would you like me to do? He looked at me and his response was "OK" Everything was handled very professionally and we moved on from there.
Just need to get my car fixed, buy a new mailbox and street sign.
    Good job Fairfield Police!

I've carried in OH since 10/19/04, and never had a problem, of course, I've haven't been pulled over in that time either... (Guess this doesn't count!)
I wear a seatbelt, but I hope to never need it, I use smoke detectors in my house, but I hope to never need them, I carry life insurance, but I hope to never need it, I carry a weapon, but I hope to never need it.

Sounds like a good experience, aside from the property damage

If I recall correctly, the rest areas in OH are posted no weapons. Fortunately, I was concealed enough where no one noticed. I was passing through on my way to, and back from, NC in October.

I've been carrying in Ohio since 2005 with no problems, but i have had no encounters. (......YET, "KNOCK ON WOOD!")
I was driving a 2004 Pontiac GTO in that snow I came close to that same problem a couple of times. Glad to hear your ok.

When I lived in NE KY back in 1960-1979 Ohio was considered very anti-gun compared to KY. It was a felony to have a loaded firearm in your car. It was as bad as MD in those years. The state has changed drastically with the latest Governor, I believe he is the Republican one. Ohio had the old locked in the glove compartment unloaded and ammo in the trunk.

I wonder if Hamilton would have treated you any different?
