What about gun registration? Is this only for Las Vegas?

Visitors are exempt. Once you are in Clark County (Las Vegas) for 60 days, you are required to register handguns only. No other county in Nevada requires the registration of firearms.
If you plan to carry concealed here, be sure your permit is valid and that you have it on you at all times. Enjoy your visit to Nevada.

Do they recognize those foreign permits of residents only or non-residents, and if non-resident do they recognize permits from other states that do recognize the states recognized by Nevada and thus by extension not listed third party states as well?
I ask because my wifes brothers and sisters live in Las Vegas and she would like to do our first 'family vacation' out there next summer.
Thanks ahead of time.

My understanding is that a new list will be coming out in Jan. 08, hopefully Michigan is on the list. My understanding of their law is: it doesn't matter if your a resident of the state that issued the license, if it's on the list your good to go. I'm not an attorney, so check it out to be sure.

NV honors both resident and non-resident permits from the states listed on the DPS website. This was posted here a couple times back when the lists first came out at the end of September.

Sweet!
Thank you Njeske.
I'll submit a non-resident app to Alsaka which I understand is inexpensive and not a hassle.

I live in AZ, but just got my Utah permit today (specifically so I can carry when I go to Nevada). Can anyone tell us what specific prohibitions we should be aware of? E.g., in AZ you cannot carry anywhere that serves alcohol; in other states you cannot carry anywhere that charges admission.
Thanks

I wish they would just come out with the national CCW and be done with it. Darn near have to have a deck of cards to cross the country legally.
I hope they include CO on the list on the 8th. The wife is not going to like it ($$$) when I start applying for non resident permits.

I have Ohio, PA and NH so if they add one of those I'd be very happy. Not that I have a NV trip planned, unfortunately.

skvinson, look at the att general site for Nevada, that should give you the actual laws.
There is a new site http://usccw.org/ that is set up similar to the past packing.org site that closed up.
There is another site, but one of the guys that owns it is a real tool, so I can't recommend anybody to that site.

I've wanted to head out to NV several times, but until FL is on the list, my $$$ stays here.
