    Mall, posted or not?

The Tucson Mall is posted at the major entrances, but some of the smaller, less traveled entrances are not.
Can I be held responsible if I entered the non-posted entrance and I was made out? Not that I would want to go to the mall.

We have the same thing at one of the malls here in Richmond. I think if it ever came up and you were able to prove that an entrance was not posted there isn't much they could do.

None of the malls I freq in Colorado are posted, but our rules say that every possible entrance must be visibly posted. No requirements for sign size or type. We can only be charged with trespassing if we refuse to leave with our money and quit shopping

Thank goodness PA is not posting oriented (for most part). No legal posting status/type anyways I have come across.

Must drive some of you guys nuts having all these darned posts everywhere. Crazy. If a person is deemed ''clean'' and given a permit then they should be able to carry any darned place - being of course totally answerable for their actions, and behavior.

I agree with you P95, luckily there are very few places here in central VA that are posted. I have noticed there are more in NoVA when I go up that way. Of course since I hate the NoVA traffic congestion I do my best to steer clear of the area!

Yep, that's something I miss about PA, and something I don't like about VA.

Find an entrance that isn't posted and make a habit of going in that one. *cough* *cough* Sears *cough* *cough*

It is? I never knew that. I always enter at Macy's, on the north east side. Macy's is definitely not posted, which begs the question as to whether only the mall walkways but not the individual stores are considered off limits.

As an aside, I was at Park Place mall, in the knife shop, as an LEO was looking at their wares (they sell Surefires, too). I turned to my left and the collision of my gun and the glass counter made quite a clatter. The LEO looked at me but said not a word.

Could you have seen one of those no smoking signs instead?

In Tennessee, it is a misdemeanor to carry in a properly posted area. The mall in Jackson has a rule against carrying, but the entrances are not posted; the rule is in a pamphlet that one might pick up. One could be escorted out if he were made, but there could be no charge because of the lack of posting.

The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

    In Minnesota.

Malls can't legally post here in Minnesota. Only the actual tenants can. It is due to the MN constitution does not allow landlords or malls to ban anything legal. We also have preemption on the carry law so a city can't over ride a state law for our Permit to Carry.

So, when I go to the mall (posted or not) I carry at least two guns plus reloads and at the Mall of America it is 3 guns.

I go thru the Macy's entrance at the Tucson mall also and no sign. I quit going to Park Place after the gang shooting a few months ago and yes that mall is also a gun free zone, go figure. I guess the gangbangers can't read. A woman was robbed of all her Christmas gifts at Dillards yesterday. I don't go anywhere in Tucson with out packing...even church.

Main mall entrances are posted here in NC. Anchor stores that are connected to the mall are not. So I just make the effort to enter an anchor store. If made, we would probably just be asked to leave.

Any posting at all tells me that my money is not welcome. Shop where you aren't a second class citizen!

That works if you can get want you want/need elsewhere. However that is not always possible. I just choose not to read anything written on the doors. Actually at our local mall the signage is so hard to read you just about have to seriously be looking for it.

Maybe there should be a mall rating system showing how many guns someone should carry to insure survival. If I'm ever at the Mall of America I'll remember that I need 3.
