Nothing stated on the bradycampaign.com about church and colorado also

but I found this on freerepublic.com

    * In Oregon, New Hampshire and Utah, a loaded Tec-9 could legally be carried into an elementary school or high school -- just as a 38-caliber revolver can be now. In Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Washington and West Virginia, or Colorado, a Tec-9 could be taken legally into a church or temple.

*still searching for a better authority

I cannot find anything that prohibits church carry, therefore allowed.

Keep in mind about only 1% of population has a conceal carry permit, probably unless than half of these actually on a regular basis, probably half of with a permit carry all the time (1/4% of the population).

Open carry is not illegal in most States, but few actually do to their desire of being "PC".

These are not the first attacks in churches or schools or malls. Only lawful citizens obey these laws anyway, bad fellars and gals do not are not worried about following the law, therefore gun laws only disarm lawful citizens and the bad fellars and gals stay armed.

In Wyoming church carry is not allow unless have permission from the preacher. In Montana church carry is allow. In Texas church carry is not allow.

Open carry is allowed in COLO, WYO, and MT; open carry fully or partial is not allowed in TX.

2A says Right to Keep and Bear Arms, does not limit where and when to carry nor how to carry (open or concealed) or what to carry.

Would these places have been attacked if there was a good chance that some where carrying concealed ? May not.

Would these places have been attacked if at these locations, several had been carrying in the open their handguns ? Probably not.

Would these places have been attacked if at these locations, several had been carrying in the open their handguns and openly carrying 30-30's, shotguns, and/or AR's ? Very most probably not.

Gun free zones are there for the taking by bad fellars and gals anytime they want too.

It's legal to carry in churches in Colorado. Sounds like these to incidents may be related. Maybe someone has a vendetta against Evangelical Christians. Colorado's main gun free zone is K-12 schools, Post Offices, State legislature, and of posted private property.

2 Dead in Colo. Shootings 65 Miles Apart

ARVADA, Colo. (AP) - A gunman killed two people at a training center dormitory for young Christian missionaries early Sunday after being told he couldn't spend the night, and hours later four people were shot outside a church in Colorado Springs.

Sounds like a good idea now!

change on Texas in Church carry, appears OK unless the church posts a 30-06 sign, meaning not permitting carry in that specific church.

    Cool

It is being reported that the BG at the Colorado Springs shooting was shot and killed by a female armed security guard for the church. (I was hoping that it had been by a CCL holder).
Reports still seem sketchy though this early. I'm surprised to see the church has armed security guards.

I had a discussion today with our Pastor. He asked "is that a gun?" when he gave me a hug. (I was carrying IWB at church, legal in Nevada.)
I said "yes, it is." He said "do you mind me asking why you have a gun?" I replied. "Well, your the shepherd right?" He said "Technically under-shepherd, Christ is THE Shepherd." I said, "Good point! And we're the sheep right?" He said "Okay..." Then I said "So tell me, where's your sheep dogs?" The Pastor paused, smiled and said "I guess you must be one of them!"

I knew I liked this guy for some reason!

armed security guard at church, thats pretty sad. all the more reason to
get rid of most of the so-called gun free zones.

Looking at the low number of CCW in the average crowd (as detailed in other threads), the difficulty in identifying and stopping bad guys with guns, and the time it takes for the police to show up and become effective (gaining SA and getting organized takes many minutes in addition to travel time), that armed Security Guard saved a lot of lives.

Maybe it was a CCW holder and they are just reporting it as a uniformed armed security guard. I know one guy here that has a CCW and works at a local gun shop that acts like armed security for a smaller church. He is also a deacon at the church I think. Churches tend to have large amounts of cash and need to protect it. Kinda sad to think some would steal from a church.
