    Not exactly...
If you have a FL address, you only send in a picture taken within 30 days of renewal, and sign a statement that you've been a good boy.

If you have a non-FL address, you must also be reprinted...

But from looking at the LA concealed site they don't differentiate between resident and non-resident permits from the states that they have reciprocity with. So it looks like they'll accept the FL non-resident permit.

What was confusing is that FL is a little different in that FL will NOT accept a non-resident permit from another state, but only a permit from your resident state.
But there is no FL "non-resident" permit. A non resident permit does not exist.

There is an entire section in the application instructions that explain this.
They send you the fingerprint card w/it.
Now if you visit FL you can get fingerprinted electronically. But like I said in another thread to call their locations that do the printing as they do not print everyday and only certain hours.
They never asked if I had a permit. Only for a training document.

? Can't be right. It's not a separate app so I'm guessing they just go by whatever residence/address you put on the app.

Here's a list of states that have reciprocity with Florida:

    FLORIDA'S RECIPROCITY STATES
    Alabama (1,5)
    Alaska (1)
    Arizona (6,7)
    Arkansas (1)
    Colorado (1,4)
    Delaware
    Georgia (1)
    Idaho (6)
    Indiana (1,3,6)
    Kansas (1,4)
    Kentucky
    Louisiana (1)
    Michigan (1,4)
    Mississippi (1)
    Missouri (1,8)
    Montana
    New Hampshire (1,4,6)
    New Mexico (1)
    North Carolina (1)
    North Dakota (1,3,6)
    Ohio (1)
    Oklahoma (1)
    Pennsylvania (1,6)
    South Dakota (1,3)
    Tennessee (1)
    Texas (1,6)
    Utah (1,6)
    Vermont (1,2)
    Virginia (1,6)
    West Virginia (1,4)
    Wyoming (1)

Now, for the states that have #4 next to them this applies:
    (4) These states will honor the Florida concealed weapon license ONLY IF the licensee is a resident of the State of Florida.
    Source: http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/new...led_carry.html

So looks like your fine for LA, but there are 5 states that won't recognize your FL permit b/c you aren't a FL resident.

I called Florida about a month ago seeing as I will be moving there from NY next year. When I said "non-resident" permit, I was quickly corrected that there is no different permit for out of state CC holders. The only this that makes it "non resident" is the address. When I go back in a couple weeks I will be getting electronically printed since it takes time off of the wait.

The permits are all the same...you are correct, there is no such thing as a non-resident FL permit...BUT, your address DOES determine if you are a FL resident or not...the rest of my previous post still applies...

This is from the Dept of AG, a head honcho...I talked with him personally...give them a call...(850)245-5691

Additional note: I did search the FL licensing site and cannot find the reference I am speaking of...but I believe it comes with the renewal forms. A quick call to the above number will find your answer...they're going to tell you the same thing that they told me. When you call, ask for the supervisor...he was my third phone transfer!
