    To the Editor:

Ceasefire NJ is still preaching that "gun free zones" will keep you safe. The most recent sacrifices on the altar of gun control this past week all occurred in "gun free zones".... an Omaha mall and two Colorado churches. More interesting is that after the first shooting early Sunday morning, the pastor in Colorado Springs, Colo., instituted a parishioner-based security detail as a precaution.

When the murderer arrived and started shooting at 1 p.m., he was promptly taken out by an armed woman with a concealed carry license, thus saving the lives of hundreds of potential victims at that location. Lives were saved because someone had a gun the moment it was needed.

At the Omaha mall, the miraculous six-minute response time of the police wasn't quick enough. Eight people were killed and three seriously injured in less than a minute before the murderer killed himself. Now, consider that the entire state of New Jersey is a "gun free zone." Our right to defend ourselves has been taken away by our government and the false promises of gun control groups.

Some say they'd be afraid to be in a mall knowing people around them are armed. Well, the criminals are armed, and the law abiding are prevented from doing so. While you're shopping for the holidays this week, consider this: When the shooting starts, would you rather have the false security of knowing you're in a "gun free zone," or the real security of armed citizens next to you able to stop the attack?

Excellent Letter! Nothing makes the point quite like that, pure hard cold facts.

Someone else who sees things with logic - but when oh when will those with ability to make better decisions take any note of this at all.

It is the proverbial brick wall - all stacked with emotion and vote catching ..... the fight is endless and tiring too.
