Domino's Driver Defends Self...And The Spin Begins...

    Morning, Folks

I just read this (mod, please reposition where you see fit)...I didn't find a thread matching under a 'Domino's ' search...

Sorry, but you've gotta sit through the ad to see the story and the slant the local news is taking. It almost sounds like they feel worse for the would-be robbers than the citizen who was forced to kill one of them.

Here is KMOV's account as printed. Different tone to the whole thing...

UPDATE: Police: Pizza delivery man who shot robber had conceal-carry permit

    Watch News 4 coverage

PAGEDALE, Mo. (AP/KMOV) -- Police say a pizza delivery man who shot and killed a robber did have a concealed - carry permit. Thursday evening two men tried to rob the Domino's pizza man after they called for a pizza to be delivered in Pagedale.

The driver opened fire killing Brian Smith, 19 of Ferguson. The second suspect ran off but was arrested Friday.

The driver has an out-of-state permit, but one officer says it should be valid in Missouri.

Neighbors say they heard at least five shots.

A source says Smith was carrying a cell phone, and the last call on his phone was reportedly made to the Domino's pizza.

The source also says Smith was carrying a toy gun, but the second suspect had a real gun and fired at least one shot.

Pretty cut and dried case of calling the driver in with the intent of robbing him. Well done, driver. I wonder if he is one of our forum peers and how he is faring today.

This has been on the news quite a bit here in St. Louis since Pagedale is part of St. Louis. What the news did not say so most of you on here will not know, is that most of Pagedale is crime and drug ridden. Being a pizza delivery person has to be a more dangerous job than a fireman running into a burning building. I'm thrilled this person was able to protect himself!
