Not what you think spare magazine thread...

I have seen alot of questions about how many spare magazines people carry, but here is a question I just thought up at 0134 in the mornin':

For bedside handguns how many of you keep another magazine or batch of magazines with that weapon, and are they in some sort of condition to be picked up and carried together or are they loose?

Big 10-4 for the 870 leaning against my bed...but back to your question. I live alone, my kids are grown. When I undress, my fully loaded 1911 gets set on my headboard, and my Brommeland's double mag pouch is relieved of one mag, and it gets put to bed next to my pistol. Why not?

The coach gun has a stock band with 5 extra shells...
The holstered Kimber has a mag holder next to it with one mag and two more lose mags in the nightstand drawer.

Bedroom not that far from safe so my 1911 (or XD45) w/o a spare mag and my AR in Condition 2 w/o spare mag. I figure with 41 rounds I should be able to a) stop b) fight to safe w/o much problem.

How long does it take you to wake up and get into your safe? How long to unlock it in the dark? Now add the pressure of home-invasion ******** breaking down your door...

I have a G20 with 2 extra mags, Wife has G19 with 3 extra mags. I used to keep them with leather, but later switched to loose because my pajamas (or lack thereof) don't exactly have any places to quickly attatch them. The way our house is layed out, my wife would stay with the son and call 911 while I secure our daughter.

Also our dog sleeps with our daughter, so any attempt to come in through her bedroom would be met with fur and lots of teeth. Then I assume the dog would wake up and join the fight.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

Sure do. The light is on the gun and an extra 15 rounder is grabbed.

XD 45 service with 2 mags and a laser/light combo on the head board, yes the mags are loose. Same goes for my M&P9c and a couple of speed loaders and my Taurus 605 .357 snubby with a surefire next to it.

G21 on headboard with Streamlight laser/light attached with 1 loose mag. Also, Mossberg 500 with folding stock and 5 shot side saddle right beside the bed.
