In Texas it's only for firearms, if you qualify with a revolver you may only carry a revolver. If you qualify with a semi-auto, you can carry either. No limit on the number of firearms you may carry .

Nevada is just for the firearms listed on the permit.

Michigan is pistol only. However, any firearm that is 30" or under but at least 26" OAL (with 16" rifle or 18" shotgun barrel) is a pistol according to the statutes, so I can have a Mini14 with folding stock that makes it 29" OAL and it is now considered a pistol so now I can carry it loaded on my person concealed or in my vehicle.

I also have a FL permit that says "firearm or weapon".

My Missouri permit was for weapons, which did cover weapons other than a gun.

My Virginia permit is a Concealed Handgun Permit. So guns only. They went so far as to put in the code a lot of other weapons that are specifically prohibited. In case they missed anything the added any other weapons of like kind.

Virginia, handgun only. I personally do not have a problem with that, but some others may.
