Almost made in a suit store.

Me and the wife were at a men's store the other day, and she noticed some nice sport coats on sale (my favorite concealment garment for wintertime.), so we looked at a few and the wife "covered" my right side for me so I wouldn't be noticed. The store was empty except for us and a salesman.

Anyway, the salesman come over, introduces himself and asks if I have been measured lately, cause he thinks I am looking at a size too small. I said "no I haven't been measured in a long time. So he reaches up to take my jacket off, and I politely said "wait a second...I don't meen to be rude, but can you give me a minute?"

He said, "i'm sorry, I should have asked first. But if it's because you are carrying a pistol, don't worry. We are gun friendly here."

Me and my wife stood there for a few minutes, and after we picked our jaws off the floor, I said "how did you know?". He said "neither of you look like sheep to me. ", "I actually wanted to put up a sign saying concealed weapons permitees get a discount, but the boss wouldn't let me."

After a few more minutes of conversation my wife, being the wonderful person she is, surprises him. She lays a big hug on him and says we are gonna tell all of our friends.

He ended up measuring me with my pistol in plain view, and we couldn't be happier. And he still gave us 10% off the sale price!

I have no need for a suit, but I was so thankful, I bought 3 more sport jackets and 2 complete suits. I DON'T EVEN WEAR SUITS!

Just thought I would relay a good experience.

If the suits are 42 S, send them down to me.......

Glad it worked out, and you got some nice clothes too!

Nope, 50 R and they had to bring in the hips...a little.

Maybe this new diet thing is working. You know, don't eat as much as you used to.

Sounds like a good experience all around. What's the name of the store? I might need a suit some day, and it's always nice to spend my money at a gun-friendly merchant.

I shop at the mens wearhouse very close to Microsoft. With their small army of Corporate Security guys in there on a regular basis, nobody blinks an eye at me when I'm being fitted for a suit with all my EDC gear on.

Another thing to keep in mind, is a lot of the sheeple will assume you're an off-duty detective/fed/etc. since your average gun-toting, frothing at the mouth redneck can't afford a suit.

I was buying a suit also (Men's Wearhouse)

To avoid "showing" I left holster and pistol in car.
I brought a paperback book about the size of my holster to make sure the waist size was correct (just stuffed it in my pants at waistband).
The sales woman asked what the book was for, and since I couldn't come up with a make-believe explanation, I told her the truth.
Not an eyelash was lifted. Please note my state of residence.

P.S. Permission to use paperback for this purpose is granted without any payment of royalties.

    TerryD,

As a fellow Kentuckian I'd appreciate the name of the suit store. If you don't want to publish here just PM me.

    Thanks

I am nowhere near...but could you post the name? This sounds like a place that should get the exposure and acknowledgment.

I'd be happy to share the location. It's the Men's Warehouse on Shelbyville Road across from the Oxmoor Mall in Louisville.
