    I'll be darned...

Went to the local post office today, looked in the window, there is a new poster, a silhouette of a handgun with a red circle & a slash.
I am positive it has never been there before. I know the subject has been broached before, but dang, when it hits home. I will not ask the folks at the window why it is there, I know the employees at this 2 person station, but I will not make it an issue.
Amazing how upset I get thinking about it.

Our local post office has this sign at the counter. I looked for a sign all over at the doors and windows and saw nothing so I walked in. I got to the counter and saw the sign. And the only reason I saw it was because I was looking hard for it. It was buried, and the whole thing wasn't even visible. It's their fault for not having the sign displayed so you can see it before you walk up to the counter.

A post office is federal property. VERY illegal to carry there.

LOL! I was thinking the same thing. It seems like every other week there is a post office thread started.

Unless you live in a 300 person town with only the U.S. postal service and no alternative-PO mailing facilities (ie, The UPS Store/MBE, FedEx/Kinkos), there's always choices. Costs a bit more, but then you get a bit more.

Post Office is owned by a private company and has been for some years now.

Post Office as in the USPS? The USPS is NOT owned by a private company.

Actually the unincorporated town sign says approx. 1,002...

For more information on carrying in a Postal facility read the article on the Gunzone website. The sign doesn't tell the whole story.

Sorry, but wrong........ "The United States Postal Service® is an independent establishment of the Executive Branch of the United States Government. It operates in a businesslike way.

Today, the Postal Service™ delivers hundreds of millions of messages each day to more than 141 million homes and businesses.

This is the story of the evolution of the Postal Service and the important role it has played in the development of the United States. "

    Excerpt from the USPS site.

Also very illegal to carry there, or mail firearms using USPS.

Unless somebody posts a documented source containing some brand new revelation in this thread (really quick like) this thread is going to be closed also.
