This is great. I was just thinking about this issue earlier today. I knew about UT and NH, and I would really like it to be so here. I just had to run down to a school to drop something off, and I had to leave the gun at home (no firearms on school property....and if you saw the snowbanks here, you'd know parking on the street is not an option.) That irked me. Hopefully this passes so we'd have more examples to support this in other states.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

Currently. You can't carry on school grounds. However, you can unload & lock you firearm in your car if you are parked in the parking lot. This should help the next time you need to drop off a load of cupcakes.
If the bill passes, without anymore changes, you will be able to carry concealed on College and University campuses with a CCW permit.
They've already watered it down to prevent carry on public elementary, middle, and high school grounds. They don't trust me to keep everyone safe. I have a really crazy ex and there are many afraid he will come to my gun-free school zone and cause problems. But allow me to protect myself after hours? NO.
It's an improvement. Hopefully things will only get better. More politicians are realizing the the police can't PREVENT things from happening.
Small, but deadly.
