Old enough to know but still too young to resist!

    old enough to remember when:

you could swat your kid on the tail for acting up in public, and no one called the police

you could bring your shotgun to school to go hunting with after school. It was your responsibility to make sure that it was unloaded

We stood and pledged allegiance to the flag every morning and sang God Bless America.

Punishment in class might mean writing the 10 Commandments a few hundred times on the chalk board during recess or after class

there was no such thing as a sign in Spanish

all elders were addressed as Mam, or Sir

If you were at a friend's house and you screwed up, his parents disciplined both of you and it was expected

a fist fight in school meant standing in the Principals office and missing recess. There were no suspensions,it was handled right then and there. It if was serious, you got paddled. When your parents found out, you got paddled again.

walking a mile to the store when I was 6, to buy a can of gas, and not fearing for my life

that store had gas for 19 cents a gallon. My mom would give me a quarter, I would buy gas and spend the rest on Bazooka bubblegum

In high school, there were no tattoos,no pierced noses or lips or belly buttons, and you wore clothing that was appropriate

When I was in the Navy, there were no woman on ships.

There were no gays, and if there were they kept their mouths shut about it.

We were scared of the Russian Navy, but they were more scared of us. Nobody else mattered much.

You could look at a person without arguing with your buddies if it was a man or a woman.

And I'm not even 50 yet...
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

Old enough to hurt from prior injuries but young enough not to learn anything from it.

I'm 24. I do know that sometimes on cold mornings....old injuries hurt real bad. I know that it's going to get worse as I get older.
    God Bless America!!
